The term for Claremont Unified School District, Area 5 is set to expire in November 2024. A General Municipal Election will be held on November 5, 2024, and this seat will be open to eligible candidates. Active Claremont is hosting candidate Cheryl Fiello in a Town Hall format meeting. The goal is to provide a venue for the candidate to present her positions, objectives, and policies. The meeting is also an opportunity for Claremont's parents, students, and residents to ask questions about the issues that are most important to them. Cheryl Fiello is a 23-year resident of Claremont, a parent of two young children attending Claremont schools, a dedicated and involved community member, a former Claremont Unified School District educator, and a small businesswoman. For nearly two decades, Cheryl proudly served the Claremont Unified School District, first as a chemistry and biology teacher at Claremont High School, and then as a district administrator overseeing technology initiatives and teacher professional development. Since leaving CUSD, Cheryl has consistently remained involved in education and the community, including serving as the Chair of the Chaparral Elementary School Site Council, a board member of the Claremont Educational Foundation, and other education-related organizations.
