Active Claremont presents: New executive director of uncommon good randy lopez march 20, 2025, 7 pm, in the grove room at the Hughes center
Randy Lopez is practically a fixture in Claremont as a result of his involvement in the Chamber of Commerce, Ophelia's Jump and a variety of service committees, including Claremont's Fourth of July Celebration Committee. Randy has chosen to further his ongoing and selfless contribution to Claremont by accepting the position of Executive Director of Uncommon Good, one of our community's most exemplary charity organizations. Uncommon Good grows and provides fresh, organically farmed food to those in and around Claremont, gleans local fruit trees, and provides food, employment, scholarships and other key benefits to those whom it would be otherwise unaffordable. Uncommon Good was founded a quarter century ago by Nancy Mintie, a lifelong advocate for and protector of homeless folks and others that are in need of assistance to get back on track. Upon retiring in 2024, she and Uncommon Good could not have been more fortunate than to be able to "pass the baton" on to Randy Lopez. Randy will be discussing the history, current activities and future plans for Uncommon Good now that he has taken the helm, explaining how the program works and highlighting the benefits to the community. Please attend, ask questions and learn what you might be able to do for Uncommon Good, and - in turn - how they will continue to preserve Claremont as the giving, supportive city for which it is widely recognized.
